Hi! My name is Benjamín García Roqués, I’m a software engineer that prefers doing things slowly and with care, which includes anything ranging from writing a piece of software to spending 15 minutes looking for a good pasta combination to eat tonight.

I write my blog posts by hand and only use LLMs during editing passes to find grammar mistakes.

I like many things in computer science, but probably the most interesting and fun are compilers and game development. I highly dislike web development (1)This site uses Hugo, which makes my life a lot easier. .

Outside programming, I like playing volleyball, drinking mate, playing cozy videogames, enjoy interior design and everything that has to do with forests and rain.

I started this blog after spending a few years working on DBMSs and joining the Recurse Center for a couple of weeks.
